Adding AI to Redmine project management: governance, costs, and security
Plan account permissions, allowed tools, monthly budgets, and execution records before allowing AI to operate on project work.

Project management involves more than a schedule. Meeting notes need to become tasks, requirements need acceptance criteria, cross-team work needs owners, blocked items need follow-up, and activity needs to become a readable progress report. Keeping data in Redmine does not remove the effort of organizing it.
Bunny's AI PM uses project, issue, version, Wiki, and News tools within Redmine. It performs concrete organizing and follow-up work while managers set priorities, resolve resource tradeoffs, and approve important results.
For a customer portal project, provide the requirements and known delivery constraints. Ask Bunny to organize scope, work packages, and acceptance criteria. It can create projects and subprojects, arrange versions and parent-child issues, assign owners, and save documentation in Wiki. This is a workflow example, not a claim about a particular customer's results.
Separate confirmed requirements from open questions. Missing access rules, deadlines, or acceptance standards should be raised with the relevant people rather than turned into unsupported commitments.
Using configured schedules and Prompts, Bunny can examine permitted issue statuses, dates, comments, and related work. It can identify overdue or stale items, ask owners for updates, and record responses. A missing response should remain visibly unresolved, not be interpreted as completion.
If a release depends on QA but test results are missing, Bunny can identify the missing evidence, affected follow-up work, and people who need to respond. Cross-project checks only include content accessible to the bound Redmine account.
Ask Bunny to prepare weekly completion summaries, work in progress, risks, and decisions. Publish them to News, update Wiki, maintain an AI Dashboard, or notify the team through approved channels. Link the underlying issues so readers can check the source.
Routine queries, document organization, and reports can run inside approved boundaries. Important date changes, ownership changes, and issue closure can require confirmation through your team's Prompt and tool configuration. AI can also create or adjust one-off and recurring schedules within its permitted scope.
Each AI Employee maps to a Redmine account with independent settings. Administrators control models and tools; employees can customize their own AI's Prompts and Skills. This does not grant company-wide data access automatically.
Start with weekly reporting or stalled-issue follow-up. Compare preparation time, accuracy, missed items, and corrections. Expand after the workflow proves useful. The measure is not how much text AI produces, but whether managers get reliable information sooner and teams know what to do next.
Plan account permissions, allowed tools, monthly budgets, and execution records before allowing AI to operate on project work.
